Ruqyah Treatment

Ruqyah in Islam is the recitation of the Quran, seeking of refuge in Allah, remembrance and supplications that are used as a means of treating sicknesses and other problems as the Quran is a source of healing.

This can be done to cure evil eye, possession of Jinn, envy and black magic. The secret behind this is that one puts his full trust, reliance and dependence only on Allah, the source of all healing and cure.

The Blessed Prophet ( صلى الله عليه و سلم) said that the best remedy is Qur’an.

[Quran,17:82]

And  We  send  down  of  the  Qur’an  that  which  is  healing  and  mercy  for  the  believers, but  it  does  not  increase  the  wrongdoers  except  in  loss.

These chapters/verses that should be recited as much as possible include:

Surah Yunnus (10:79-82)

Surah Jinn (72:1-9)

Surah Al Mu’minun (23:115-118)

Surah As Saffaat (37:1-10)

You can recite ruqyah on yourself by gathering the palms of your hands and reciting in them the ruqya and then blow in your hands and wipe the area that is ill and hurting you.In addition, you can also recite the following Prophetic Duas.

Du’a for protection against evil

Recite once:

Aa’uuzu biwajhil laahil a’ziimil lazii laisa shai-un aa’zama minhu wa bikalimaatil lahittaammaatil laatii laa yujaawizu hunna barrunw walaa faajirunw wa bi asmaaillaahil husna kullihaa. Maa a’limtu minhaa wamaa lam aa’lam min sharrii maa khalaqa wa bara-a wa zara-a.

Translation: I seek refuge in Allaah, the most Greatest. There is nothing equal to His Greatness. And I seek refuge in His complete and powerful Words, which cannot be surpassed by any good or bad person, and (I seek refuge in) all the Names of Allaah which I know and which I do not know, from the evil of all those things which He created, and created them errorless and scattered them all over.

Recite thrice:

‘A`ūdhu Bikalimātil-Lāhit-Tāmmāti Min Ghađabihi Wa `Iqābih, Wa Sharri `Ibādihi Wa Min Hamazātish-Shayāţīni Wa ‘An Yaĥđurūn.

I take refuge in the perfect words of Allah from His anger and punishment, and from the evil of His servants, and from the madness and appearance of devils.

Say in the morning and in the evening (thrice):

A’udhu bi kalimat Allaah al-taammaat min sharri ma khalaq”

I seek refuge in the Perfect Words of Allah from the evil of what He has created.

A’udhu bi kalimaat-Allaah il-taammah min kulli shaytaanin wa haammah wa min kulli ‘aynin laammah

I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from every devil and poisonous reptile, and from every envious evil eye.

“In the Name of Allah, with Whose Name nothing on the earth or in the heaven can cause harm, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.”

Allah has exposed the steps and methods taken by shaytan, so that if a person neglects his shield and weapon and falls short in recognizing the plots and plans of his enemy, then his enemy will have power over him - and there is no ability or power except from Allah. If the servant of Allah gives permission to his enemy, opens the door to his house for him, admits him therein and allows him to brandish the weapon on to fight with then he is alone to blame, and he should not blame anyone but himself.

Abu Hurayrah (R.A) reported that the Messenger of Allah (صلى الله عليه و سلم) said: ‘Whoever says:

Lā ‘Ilāha ‘Illāl-Lāhu Waĥdahu Lā Sharīka Lah, Lahul-Mulku Wa Lahul-Ĥamd, Wa Huwa `Alá Kulli Shay’in Qadīr.

‘None has the right to be worshipped except Allah, alone, without partner. To Him belongs all sovereignty and praise and He is over all things omnipotent.’

…a hundred times during the day, has the reward of freeing ten slaves, a hundred good deeds are recorded for him and a hundred bad deeds are wiped away and he has gained refuge from the devil that day until evening and none shall come with anything better except someone who has done more.’

When Satan inflicts a person with his touch, it is submission to Allah that arouses the heart from neglecting His guidance so that those with taqwa remember, and when they make remembrance of Allah their vision is In’Sha’Allah opened and covering is removed.
